What are cookies?
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are and how they are used on this website, and how to manage the cookie settings. Cookies are small text files that are used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when the website is loaded on your browser.
How do we use cookies?
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It sets only one cookie of its own, to remember your choice in the cookie banner.
Two pages show content from Google: the map on the Contact page and the calendar on the Agenda page. They are only loaded if you accept Google cookies in the cookie banner. Until then, nothing is requested from Google: these pages show a short notice and a link to open the map or the calendar on Google in a new tab.
Cookies used on this website
| Cookie | Set by | When | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ehuqc_consent | This website | When you choose “Accept” or “Reject” in the cookie banner | Remembers your choice, so that the banner is not shown on every page. It contains only “accepted” or “rejected”. | 12 months |
NID and other Google cookies | Google (google.com) | Only if you accept, when the calendar on the Agenda page or the map on the Contact page is loaded | Google uses them to remember preferences and for its own purposes, described in how Google uses cookies. If you are signed in to Google, Google may also read your Google account cookies. | Set by Google (NID: 6 months) |
| YouTube cookies and similar data | YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) | Only when you click on a video in a news post | YouTube may store data on your device once the video is played. | Set by YouTube |
YouTube videos do not depend on the cookie banner: each one is only loaded when you click on it.
Links to other websites (for example Google Maps, Google Calendar, X, YouTube or the EHU research portal) do not load anything until you click them. Those websites have their own cookie policies. See also the Google Privacy Policy.
Manage cookie preferences
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link, which is also at the foot of every page. Your choice is kept for 12 months; after that, the banner asks again.
If you withdraw your consent, the map and the calendar are no longer loaded, but the cookies that Google has already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them.
You can change the settings of your browser to block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies. Listed below are the links to the support documents on how to manage and delete cookies from the major web browsers.
